Antique bathroom vanity style

For most of us, it is not easy to figure out how much space we should devote to different bathroom fixtures and how much floor space should be left out for standard activities. However, you must realize that the bathroom should never be made so much congested that one feels suffocating in it. The Antique bathroom vanity style with their bulge as well as ornamentations may look grand, but they hardly fit with the modern décor. That is why for modern bathrooms, there is no alternative to the modern bathroom vanities.

The bathroom fixtures and accessories are no longer what they used to be. The scenario has changed with introduction of ultra-modern shower enclosures and other accessories. Antique bathroom vanity cabinets hardly go with them, but the modern bathroom cabinets just merge with them.

With time, our preferences have changed. We no longer like those big and ornate furniture that earlier ruled the market. We now prefer simple and unobtrusive fixtures and the modern bathroom cabinets with their simple lines and unstated sophistication are just the answer to it.

If you look at the modern bathrooms, you will see that glass and stainless steel are the two most used materials there. That is why among all the modern bathroom cabinets, the modern glass vanities have been accepted as the trendiest. However, wood, ceramic, metals such as aluminum and wrought iron, stone such as marble and granite are used extensively to create striking vanities in modern style.

To me creating a pleasant atmosphere in the bathroom so that using it does not become a chore is the most important factor. I do not really care what people think, or maybe I do; in fact, everybody does. However, the priority is making the ambience cheerful for my own use. That is why I prefer wall hung vanities more. Although the Antique bathroom vanity part is smaller in them, they create a more open ambience, because of the compact design. What is more, such vanities save space for vanity stools, colorful rugs and other knickknacks that can brighten the atmosphere more.

Even if glass is the main material used in modern bath vanities, other materials are often added to bring about the transparent beauty of glass. Of course, brackets, rids, faucets are all made out of metals and so a contrast is automatically created, but often that is not enough. You must realize that creating a contrast is an essential feature in any kind of artistic exercise and furnishing the bathroom, decorating it so that cleansing yourself becomes a pleasant experience, is nothing less than artistic venture.

However, if chosen with care, Antique bathroom vanity itself can act as a decoration piece. As you know, there are two types of sinks – traditional drop-in sinks that fit into the opening of the cabinet and modern vessel sinks that are installed on the countertop. Since a vessel sink is fitted on the top, not inside it, it does not have to confirm to any size and shape. The artists have taken benefit of this fact to create differently shaped sinks. They have stopped only where their imagination has ended. As a result, along with regular shapes, you also have some unbelievably bold designs.

If you are thinking of buying a antique sink vanity, especially one with bold designs, just look around you. Is the existing décor or the fixture modern enough to carry such a sink? If you think, it is going to fit, then go ahead and buy one. It will be the final statement about your style, your preferences and most of all your own being. Most try to do that through the décor of their living room, but few will go as far as the powder room. Be one of the rare few.

However, not every vessel sink is that bold. Some do confirm to traditional shapes and size. If you ask me, the best attribute of a vessel sink does not lie in its look, but in the fact that, by virtue of its position, it is able to preserve the entire available space for storage purposes.  As it is, the wall hung vanities have lesser storage capacity. If the top shelf is eaten up by the drop-in sinks, how much will be left for actual storage. That is why most of the modern bathroom vanities today have vessel sink fitted in top.
